International Director (2021-2022)
The Batemans Bay Rotary Club has always given a substantial portion of budget funds to the International portfolio.
We have a current Global Grant project of building a water system, 28 toilets and delivering hygiene training for the residents in barangay Inararo, Philippines which commenced in January 2021 after delays owing to the pandemic. The project is a continuation of a partnership of many years with the Rotary Club of Intramuros in Manilla. We have been able to undertake this project with the financial assistance of three other Rotary clubs, namely Narooma, Moruya, and Canberra.
During the last twelve months the Club has also supported Shelterbox Australia, Vietnam Health Care Cards (through the E Club Latitude 38 Degrees) and Disaster Aid Australia.
The Rotary Foundation
The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotary Members to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotary members and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. This support is essential to make possible projects, funded with Foundation grants, that bring sustainable improvement to communities in need.
The Rotary Club of Batemans Bay have been strong supporters of the Rotary Foundation over many years, in particular Polio Plus.
